Water-sports on Junkanoo Beach
This beach is lively, located close to the cruise ship dock it offers bars, cafés music and watersports. Examples of some of the activities on offer are kayaks, canoes, water trampoline and paddleboards.
This excursion sets sail from Nassau and takes you on a 20-minute journey to Blue Lagoon Island where you can swim with dolphins, meet sea lions, snorkel, relax and unwind on the beach enjoying lunch and perhaps a cocktail or 2.
The Queen’s Staircase
The Queen’s staircase, also known as the 66 steps, was built by slaves between 1793 and 1794 using limestone. The staircase links Fort Fincastle to Nassau city. It was later named after Queen Victoria because of her contribution to the abolition of slavery.
Fort Fincastle can be found on top of Bennet’s Hill and there are guided tours available between 8-4pm daily.
Day excursions to Rose Island are available to this small idyllic island. Once there you can enjoy the fantastic snorkeling spots, beach volleyball, kayaking and of course the beach bar. If you’re lucky you may also spot some of the wild pigs that swim close by.
Schools close to consider before buying Luxury Homes in Dick’s Point
There are two excellent international schools that are closest to Dick’s Point. The first is St Andrews, which welcomes children aged between 2.5-19 years. The other school is Queens College that takes children aged 3.5-17 years.
